📍 Highbridge Park, W 190th St &, Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10040, USA
The Lower East Side Skatepark (LES), also known as Coleman or Chinatown Skatepark, has cemented its status as a Manhattan skateboarder’s mecca. Famous for its tough obstacles like the “Big Apple,” ledges, kickers and rails and for being the stage where skate legends show off their new tricks.
The recent renovation breathed new life into the park while keeping its beloved status in the New York skate community. The repair replaced plastic ramps with marble and cement. Despite the changes, LES Skatepark is still a hot spot, showing the ever evolving culture of skateboarding.
The 2012 renovation focused on usability and flow. It’s more skater friendly for all levels. The marble and cement ramps add a touch of class to the park. Beyond the skate ramps, LES Skatepark shares the space with a larger playground under the Manhattan Bridge, a multi use recreational area for the community.
Les Coleman Skate Park Hours and Location
The park is under the iconic Manhattan Bridge on Pike Street. LES Skatepark is open daily from 7am-6pm. There’s plenty of time to skate and soak up the energy of the park. The urban landscape of the Manhattan Bridge is the perfect backdrop for skaters to challenge themselves on the new terrain. The park’s reputation as a haven for legends and enthusiasts makes it a must see in the city.
Open every day from sunrise to sunset, the Lower East Side Skatepark is not just a skatepark but a community space. We require skaters to sign a waiver and wear helmets, knee pads and elbow pads. We want to create a safe space for everyone to enjoy the legendary atmosphere of LES Skatepark against the Manhattan Bridge.
There’s kid friendly features like a baseball field and basketball courts. Whether you’re a pro or a beginner, LES Skatepark is an experience in the heart of New York City.
