Description
Built in the South Bronx on the site of the former Yankee Stadium parking lot, River Avenue Skate Park opened its doors in 2010. Designed in collaboration with the skateboard community, this 10,000 square foot concrete skate park is situated near to the B and D lines.
A plaza atmosphere surrounds the park, which has a variety of ramps including banks, seats, ledges, rails, stairs, and transitional structures. Drawing inspiration from both the past and present of the city, River Avenue Skate Park is one of the first in the city to use conventional NYC Parks materials.
This unsupervised skatepark welcomes BMX bikes, scooters, inline skates, and skateboards. Operating from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., the park is open to the public. It providesa space for skating and other wheeled activities in the heart of the Bronx.
