📍 St Leonards Skatepark, 23 McLeod St, St Leonards VIC 3223, Australia
St Leonards Skatepark, found on McLeod Street beside the basketball and netball courts, could easily take the title of Victoria’s worst skatepark. The tiny concrete layout squeezes just three street obstacles together, leaving little room for flow.
On one side sits a 2-metre down rail, just 20cm high at the start before disappearing straight into the ground at the other end. Oddly enough, it’s one of the park’s better features — perfect for those who want something you can just roll straight into. Opposite that is a small box without coping, topped with an awkward up-across-down rail. The so-called centerpiece is a lonely 20cm concrete ramp/jump stranded in the middle of the park.
Once upon a time, there was a wooden mini ramp tucked in the corner, but rumor has it that it burned down. In its place, the council has left skaters with… fresh white lines painted on the concrete. At least now, you won’t miss the obstacles as you cruise right past them.
