Brisbane is home to plenty of mellow, fun skateparks—and Thorneside Skatepark, also known as Mooroondu Road Skatepark, is one of the standouts. This compact, time-tested park is ideal for skaters looking to hone their street skills in a laid-back setting.
Originally built in 2001, the park has seen a few minor updates over the years, including the addition of a welcome steel mini ramp. The concrete section features a tiny 1-foot mini ramp, a ledge, rail, and bank—all modestly sized, making them perfect for beginners and technical street skaters alike.
Since the park sits beneath several large trees, we suggest bringing a broom or even a leaf blower to clear away debris before your session. Off to the side, you’ll also find some dirt jumps for BMX riders, adding an extra layer of fun to the area.
