Located within Lake Wilcox Park in Richmond Hill, Ontario, the Lake Wilcox Skatepark is an impressive outdoor facility spanning 17,000 square feet and operating from 10 am to 11 pm. Opened in 2019, it boasts some of the largest bowls in the area, ranging from four to eight feet deep, along with a nine-foot halfpipe section featuring a fourteen-foot vert capsule.
The skatepark offers a diverse range of features, including a large street section stretching over two hundred feet, complete with handrails, hubbas, stair sets, flat ledges and bars, A-frames, euro gaps, bank to kickers, and quarter pipes. This well-designed skatepark combines contemporary street designs with classic transition and vertical elements, showcasing the evolution of Canadian skateparks.
With its primary Plaza Area and enclosed Flow Bowl, the skatepark caters to wheeled-sports enthusiasts of all skill levels. The Plaza Area features traditional flat ground street elements and variously sized stair sets, while the Flow Bowl includes depths of four, six, and eight feet, along with a dramatic nine-foot halfpipe with pool block coping and a striking fourteen-foot over-vertical capsule. Additionally, the facility provides opportunities for public/street art components to enhance its unique identity and contribute to the vibrant youth park atmosphere.
