Situated at Bixby Park, the concrete skatepark known as “Cherry,” built by California Skateparks, holds a legendary status. It is also known as “Bixby Skate Spot.” Originally constructed on an old shuffleboard court, it incorporates ramps from the now-defunct DIY spot, LB Free. The park showcases precision-cast concrete pieces donated to the city, creating a simple yet iconic hub for the modern street skate scene.
Referred to as “Cherry,” this park is a favorite among professionals, who frequent it daily due to its proximity to the ocean and its relaxing amenities like picnic areas and various sports and recreation facilities. The skatepark includes a Funbox, Kicker/Launch, Grind Box/Ledge, Manual Pad, Mini Ramp, Pyramid, and Spine.
Thanks to Spohn for the skate spot and the first two pics.
Offering free entrance and open 24/7, “Cherry” is a decently sized concrete park suitable for both beginners and experts, adding to its allure as a central spot for skating enthusiasts.
