The creation of Wardlaw Skatepark was a collaborative endeavor, spanning two years and encompassing five public meetings where skaters and BMX riders actively participated in the planning process. Wardlaw Skatepark caters to skaters and riders of all proficiency levels, featuring designated areas for beginners and intermediates to minimize conflicts and promote a welcoming environment for learning and progression. The park’s layout includes back-and-forth runs with a quarter pipe and flat bank flanking a funbox, alongside additional attractions such as a miniramp and a concrete bowl.
Designed by SITE Design Group, Inc., Wardlaw Skatepark spans 6,900 square feet and has many features including a spine, hubba, roll-in, quarterpipe, funbox, handrail, flatrail, ledge, bank, miniramp, and bowl. The park is illuminated for night use, allowing enthusiasts to skate and ride after dark, further enhancing its accessibility and appeal.
Wardlaw Skatepark is accessible to all, with no admission fee required for entry. However, the park is unsupervised, emphasizing the importance of personal responsibility and adherence to safety guidelines. Safety gear is enforced for all skaters, ensuring a safe place for skateboarding and BMX activities.
