Description
“Thomas Jefferson Park is a 15.52-acre public park in East Harlem, Manhattan. Situated on First Avenue between 111th and 114th Streets, the park offers a range of recreational facilities, including playgrounds, baseball, basketball, football, handball, running, skating, and soccer. The Thomas Jefferson Play Center within the park features a recreation center and a pool, named in honor of former U.S. president Thomas Jefferson.
It is an unsupervised facility designed to cater to skaters of all levels. The park is inclusive, allowing BMX bikes, inline skates, scooters, and skateboards, while large bikes and electric or gas-powered devices are not permitted. Notable features include a hubba, curb, roll-in, quarterpipe, funbox, manualpad, Londongap, kicker, handrail, gap, flatrail, ledge, bank, stairs, wallride, and a miniramp.
Visitors can utilize the large parking lot directly across from the skate park. It makes it convenient for vehicle parking. Due to its popularity, the lot may fill up quickly. The skate park is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., offering a free and accessible space for skaters in the East Harlem community.”
