The Compound Indoor Skatepark in downtown Calgary is a unique indoor facility catering to skateboarders and creative minds. With specific operating hours, including evenings and weekends, the park provides a space for skaters of all levels. The indoor skatepark features ramps, rails, stairs, and ledges, creating a dynamic environment for training and creativity.
Operating hours are as follows:
- Wednesday: 8–11 PM
- Thursday: 3–6 PM, 8–11 PM
- Friday: 2–10 PM
- Saturday: 12–8 PM
- Sunday: 10 AM–5 PM
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday: 8–11 PM
The park has two sections:
1. Section 1 (4,000 sq/feet): Includes a 6-foot halfpipe, a massive grind box (14"), a mani pad, and various movable rails and boxes. This space is not heated and may get cold depending on the weather.
2. Section 2 (2,400 sq/feet): Features a 4-foot mini-ramp (formerly the Hart Ramp), a bank, and about 50 feet of space for practicing flat ground tricks. This space is heated for comfort during colder days.
Rules at The Compound Indoor Skatepark include skateboards only, with no bikes, inline skates, or scooters allowed. Helmets are mandatory, and a waiver is required for participants. The facility is also used as an indoor training facility for the Riders on Board Snowboard Club, which opens it to the public during specific hours.
