The park owes its name to Zach Wormhoudt’s father, Ken, a skateboarding pioneer who designed and built the world’s first public skate park, Derby Park, in Santa Cruz County in 1974.

Zach took charge of the Mike Fox Park project and faced significant challenges in constructing the standout feature – a 16-foot-tall full pipe, designed to mimic an ocean wave.
