Penn Hills Skatepark is a free Public park in the Penn Hills area. It is situated in Duff Park. The easiest way to get there is to find Penn Hills Shopping Center on Rodi Road. Go to the exit behind the plaza turn left. Follow that road until you P A school on your right. The road will turn sharply to the left and go down a hill, at that point you will see an entrance straight ahead. That is Duff Park. The skatepark is situated right there in some old tennis courts.
I believe these ramps are made by Skate Wave. Over all, they are not bad. The only down end is that all of the boxes are covered (for rain) with plastic lumber. There are no metal edges to lock on to. The other issue with using plastic lumber for the tops is that your wheels do not grip at all. So the first couple lip slides you always wonder when you are going to die.
At this park you will find:
Mini Ramp with Spine extension
Mellow Pyramid
Two Bank Transfer Hip (Think of a Pyramid, but remove the awesome part)
Stairs, Ledge and Mini Hubba
Quarter Pipe
moveable Section consisting of Jersey Barriers, Boxes and Kickers
* How Crowded? 5
* Are pads required to skate?: full pads
* Does it cost money to skate?: no
