Located in McCormack Park, Laverton Skatepark has evolved over the years into a true skate space masterpiece. What began as a handful of ledges and rails has expanded into a large, flowing concrete playground designed to cater to every style of riding. Built by PRECiSiON Skate Parks, the park boasts some of the smoothest concrete in the area and a thoughtfully designed layout.
The highlight is the double bowl, a feature comparable to those at Fitzroy, Lilydale, and Horsham skate bowls. Its design has stood the test of time, offering skaters, BMX’ers, and scooter riders a fun and versatile transition zone. The park also includes a comprehensive street section with ledges, rails, and banks, ensuring plenty of variety for all disciplines.
In true skate culture fashion, one ledge even has steel grooves usually found on city buildings to deter skaters—ironically placed right beside a wheelchair access ramp. Common sense might not have prevailed in that design choice, but it adds a bit of character to the spot.
Despite its quality, Laverton Skatepark is often overlooked with so many newer skateparks popping up across West Melbourne. This means you’ll frequently find the park quiet, giving you the luxury of having the space almost to yourself.
Adding to the convenience, a public toilet was recently installed near the park—so now you can shred without having to cut your session short.
Overall, Laverton Skatepark is a rad, well-rounded spot with features to suit everyone, from street riders to transition lovers.
