Hazard Park Skate Plaza: A Hub for Skateboarding and Recreation
Introduction:
Hazard Park Skate Plaza, nestled within Hazard Recreation Center, offers skateboarders a and safe space to hone their skills. Supported by the Rob Dyrdek Street League Skateboarding Foundation, this 10,000 square-foot skatepark provides a welcoming environment for skaters of all levels.
Facilities and Amenities:
- Versatile Facilities: Hazard Park Skate Plaza is part of Hazard Recreation Center, which has many amenities including an auditorium, barbecue pits, basketball courts, a children’s play area, a community room, handball courts, an indoor gym, picnic tables, tennis courts, a jogging path, a kitchen, multipurpose sports fields, and more.
- Skate Plaza Features: The plaza features stairs, ramps, and rails suitable for skateboarders looking to expand their skills. With few obstacles, the park welcomes skaters of all levels.
- Night Skating: Lighting allows for evening sessions, extending the skateboarding experience into the night.
Operating Hours and Accessibility:
- Hours of Operation: Hazard Park Skate Plaza is open Monday to Friday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The facility is closed on Sundays, with extended hours available for permit groups.
- Free Admission: Admission to Hazard Park Skate Plaza Hazard Recreation Center is free to the public, ensuring accessibility for all community members.
