Hastings Skatepark offers over 400 square metres of smooth concrete designed for skaters, scooter riders, and BMXers of all levels. This relatively new facility packs a surprising variety of obstacles into a compact, flowing layout.
At its heart is a 5-foot open mini bowl, featuring a hip that leads into a berm corner on one side, and a spine on the other that connects into fun boxes for endless transition lines. The park also includes a ski jump with a hubba running in a set line toward a quarter pipe, plus a box rail hubba set at a 35-degree angle adjacent to the spine—perfect for mixing in technical grinds and slides. A series of quarter pipes and roll-in ramps create natural flow between features, letting riders link the ski jump, transfers, and transition sections into creative runs.
The skatepark sits within Fred Smith Reserve, right next to the larger Hastings Foreshore Reserve, at the corner of Marine Parade and High Street. It’s conveniently located beside the Pelican Park Recreation Centre (public swimming pool) and is surrounded by open grass parkland, a children’s playground, and the nearby boat ramp—ideal if you fancy a post-skate fishing session or feeding the local pelicans. Parking is available right next to the park, and toilets can be found either in the reserve or at the recreation centre.
Hastings itself has a bit of a reputation for keeping things tidy—it was the overall winner of the Victorian Tidy Town Awards in 2004—and while we can’t promise it’s exactly as spotless today, the skatepark and surrounding area generally feel clean and well-maintained.
All in all, Hastings Skatepark is a well-built, versatile spot in a great location. Whether you’re looking to warm up in the bowl, string together lines across fun boxes and rails, or simply enjoy a relaxed session with friends, it’s a welcoming stop worth adding to your skate map.
