Darn! Ancient Snakerun in the woods of Huntington, West Virginia. It’s all overgrown with trees and bushes and it looks like some sort of lost time in the jungle (perhaps it actually is…) There I encountered some of the local teens who use the spot to burn doobers rather than skate it. One said that his dad used to party there back in the 1970s, so this spot is a 20-some odd-years of very smooth concrete skateboard history. It features a steep, flat bottomless half-pipe that flows down into a basin with a couple of small bumps in it. When I was there in the spring, it had rained a lot. While the upper section was able to be skated, the lower basin was basically a swamp. I half-expected Yoda to emerge from the bushes and steal my board as he did with Luke Skywalker’s Light Saber. Neil Blender skates this spot in the 1990 G&S video “Footage”. Also, not Display in the promos is another section with some steep wallride-flatback action goin’ on.
fun!!! it is a snake run that is very smooth concrete in west Virginia it is. very torn up. and it has a skiable half pipe. and behind it is a bowl. I and my peer are going up there and fix it up. oh. yea this park is at least 20 years old. my dad used to skate up there when he was 15 he is 35 now ..you do the math.
