Location: Cottonwood Skatepark is located in Cottonwood, Arizona, at 1201 S. 6th Street. It’s nestled in the heart of the Verde Valley, offering a scenic backdrop while you skate!
What is it?
Cottonwood Skatepark is a free, outdoor skatepark designed for skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooters. Whether you’re looking to practice tricks, cruise around, or hang out with other skaters, this park has something for everyone. It’s a great place to get in some flow and enjoy the community vibe.
Size
The skatepark is about 15,000 square feet, making it a decent size for a small city park. It’s packed with features to keep you entertained without feeling cramped, giving you plenty of room to ride and try new tricks.

- Street Section: Rails, ledges, manual pads, and stairs for tech skaters to grind and flip.
- Bowls: Two bowls with different depths for riders who like to carve and flow.
- Quarter Pipes: A few quarters for carving, airs, or practicing transitions.
- Funbox: A versatile area where you can hit gaps, grind, or just get creative with your lines.
Opening Hours
Cottonwood Skatepark is open every day of the year. Since it’s an outdoor park, keep in mind the weather and the heat in summer!
- Monday – Sunday: Sunrise to Sunset (perfect for early morning or evening sessions).
During the hot Arizona summer months, it’s best to skate either early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid the extreme heat. The sun can get pretty intense during midday!
Vibe
The vibe at Cottonwood Skatepark is laid-back and friendly. It’s a community-driven spot where skaters of all ages and skill levels come to hang out, skate, and help each other improve. There’s a strong local scene here, and it’s a great place to meet fellow skaters, share tips, and learn from each other.
Summer Heat
Arizona summers are HOT, and Cottonwood is no exception! Temperatures often hit above 100°F (38°C), so be sure to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take frequent breaks. The best times to skate are early mornings or evenings when the temperatures are a bit more manageable. Don’t forget your water bottle — the heat can sneak up on you!
