Description

Chelsea Skatepark in Bicentennial Park has become a premier destination following a $1.4 million upgrade. The large, smooth concrete areas feature open bowls, bumps, spines, rollovers, banks, rails, and quarters, catering to skaters of all skill levels. The park includes a distinctive 2.4m high, 7.3m wide metal vert mini ramp with a roll-in area coping—an impressive addition for vert enthusiasts.

 

  • Adjacent to the skatepark is a youth precinct with a multi-court for soccer and basketball, a DJ table, climbing poles, and sheltered seating. It makes it a vibrant spot for the community. The planned lighting system, which activates only when people are present after dark, will be a great addition, allowing for safe night skating.

 

  • Chelsea Skatepark at Bicentennial Park offers much more than just an outstanding skate area. It’s part of a well-rounded recreational space that includes a fantastic playground, extensive parklands, walking tracks with exercise stations, and BBQ and picnic facilities. There’s even a dog park and dedicated playground area. It makes it a perfect spot for families, friends, and pets to enjoy a day outdoors. With so many amenities, Chelsea Skatepark and Bicentennial Park cater to a wide range of interests and create an ideal community hub.

 

Chelsea Skatepark at Bicentennial Park is open 24 hours, allowing skaters and visitors to enjoy its features at any time. With the upcoming addition of a motion-activated lighting system, the park will become even more accessible and safe for night skating.
