The only indoor skatepark in New York City is 5050 Skatepark, which is located in the Staten Island district of Stapleton. This 8,000-square-foot, year-round, custom-built recreation complex is modeled after the idea of late BMXer Benjamin Soto and is family-friendly. In his native state of Staten Island, Soto had the idea to build an indoor skatepark.
The facility offers a creative and safe place for skill development to aficionados of alternative sports. The cost of a daily riding session is $14.00; an all-day pass is $20.00. Memberships, classes, summer programs, private parties, and award contests are all available at the park. It is also accessible for a variety of private events, including movie premieres, photo sessions, music videos, and live musical performances.
The park is accessible to riders of all skill levels and is open seven days a week for bikes, skateboards, scooters, and rollerbladers. Rentable safety equipment is one of the safety measures that are required. Every participant, particularly those under the age of eleven, is required to have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver. The park offers a friendly environment for picking up new skills, connecting with like-minded people, and experiencing the exhilaration of extreme sports.
