The Jon Comer Skatepark is a huge place where you can ride skateboards, scooters, bikes, and rollerblades. It’s fun for kids and grown-ups, and great for both beginners and advanced riders.
Location
It’s at 1010 W. Miller Road, inside Rick Oden Park in Garland, Texas.
When Can You Go?
The skatepark is open every day from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
What’s There?
- Street Area: A big space with ramps, rails, stairs, and other cool things to ride on.
- Bowl Area: A deep bowl with smooth sides for doing tricks.
- Beginner’s Area: A special place for new riders to practice safely.
Special Features
- Lights: So you can skate even when it’s dark.
- Shade: Places to rest and stay cool.
- Events: Sometimes there are fun contests and activities.
Who Was Jon Comer?
Jon Comer was a professional skateboarder who lived in Garland. He was the first pro skater with a prosthetic leg. He showed everyone that you can do amazing things no matter what challenges you face. The skatepark is named after him to honor his legacy.
