Veteran Instructor Scott B. — Brownstown, Michigan

I have been skateboarding for 18 years and in that time have worked with and skated alongside many talented professionals and amateur skateboarders alike. Learning from all these talents I have gained the trick selection needed to enjoy skateboarding and overall have the skills to skate in video parts. I have worked with Quasi Skateboards, Theories, Soletech footwear development, and local Michigan brands.

Veteran Instructor Chris G. — Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan

I began skateboarding as a self-inspired hobby in high school. It provided a healthy, and beneficial environment for me to develop physically and mentally. I have been teaching skateboarding since the day I began. Through lots of persistence and hard work I have achieved tricks I thought would never be within reach.

Veteran Instructor Fan S. — Detroit, Michigan

My name is a Fan. I'm from Detroit Michigan and I've been skateboarding for 20-plus years. Skateboarding has come to me in all types of forms, from street to transitions and a little bit of freestyle. But really it is all about having fun and I think that's the most important thing about skateboarding. You will absolutely learn nothing if you are not having fun really that is with anything but especially with skating that is what it was based on that's where it comes from the will to push yourself all while doing something that you love and ultimately is fun. If we don't install this into the coming Generations then we will lose what it is that makes skateboarding great... freedom of speech. The reason why skateboarding is what it is is that a group of society's Misfits, hooligans, thugs, or whatever you want to call them turn their negative outlook of who they are into something positive and legendary. I believe in remembering the roots and remembering the originals the ones who got us to where we are. If it wasn't for them we would not have any and I repeat any of the greats that we have to this day it's not always just about making money but teaching the younger ones and maybe even some older ones who may have missed out on the opportunity of learning such a great culture.

Veteran Instructor Christopher H. — Detroit, Michigan

I am 29 years old and have been skating since I was a small child. I am very confident and balanced on a skateboard. I have and currently enjoy many styles of skateboarding. This includes, but is not limited to, downhill longboarding, cruising (on short and long boards), and bowl/ramp/vert/transition skating. I am the legal guardian of my two nephews (ages 8 and 11) and enjoy teaching them and their friends to skate. I am confident I can teach anyone to become stable on a skateboard, gain confidence while moving around, how to build, repair, and set up a skateboard, and eventually get to a point in which they can carry on skateboarding safely and teach themselves new things. I am a certified first responder and value safety greatly.

I've worked in pediatric clinical environments for children with special needs, and been a camp counselor for winter and summer camps. I've also worked in after-school clubs and enrichment programs. I'm devoted to the youth and sharing positivity through skateboarding.

Veteran Instructor Chandler F. — Harper Woods, Michigan

Hello my name is Chandler, I'm 19, turning 20 in October 7th, and I've been skateboarding for almost 16 years. My passion for skateboarding began when I was 3 with my first board; ever since that day, I haven't put my board down once. I also currently collect skateboards of all kinds from old to modern. (weirdest one is a skateboard with 14 wheels!) My passion and love for skateboarding are still growing every individual day. I spent a few summers at my local skate park during their summer camps, and they would have me help teach because I was there every day. I also did one on one classes with kids I met there as volunteer work because I enjoy skating and helping others learn to love it as well. Willing to work with and tutor all ages! I can teach at Landslide Skatepark, Modern, Oakland Vert, and Ride It Sculpture Park.

Great for Beginners Douglas R. — Oak Park, Michigan

I've shown many kids tricks through the years. When I was younger I saw a demo with Ed Templeton and he actually took the time to explain the physics behind impossibles so I understand the importance of having an "instructor".

Veteran Instructor Andrew J. — Royal Oak, Michigan

Andrew has a good attitude and loves to work with kids and skate. Training is a broken down into pieces process for him. Starting with the movement, the mechanics, and then the full action. Skating for 10+ years gives Andrew a perspective into your kid's mentality and thought process when it comes to tackling difficult movements. It can be frustrating but they are sure to have fun and have persistence when they see their rapid process.

Great for Beginners Randy S. — Redford, Michigan

Randy is no rookie to teaching, in fact, he has done a lot of lessons. Heworked as a head counselor at PLUS skate camp through PLUSkateboarding. He enjoys teaching and watching people grow in doing what they love. He may not be able to do every trick in the book but can definitely explain the most advanced tricks.
