I've been skating from a very young age and I was born into a family of skateboarders. When I was a kid skating was pretty much all I would do whether I was bombing hills, skating backyard pools, or going to skateparks. I've been skating on and off for fifteen years and throughout that time I've taught a lot of people to skate the same way my dad taught me. I can do tricks like kickflips and tire flips but I really shine when it comes to transition skating such as pools and bowls. I feel like I have an act for teaching people how to skate because I have done it so much and I also like seeing people improve.

Hello! Hayden has skated nearly his whole life and has had tons of experience being taught as well as teaching others and working with children. Hayden was once eager to enter the world of skating and enrolled in skate camp for two summers when he first started out at his local skatepark around seven years old. This camp really inspired him to pursue the sport of skateboarding as it taught him everything he needed to know to get comfortable skating on his own. Now that Hayden is older, he wants to return the favor and teach kids the skills they need to begin their journey in skateboarding. Hayden is intermediate to the advanced skater who is willing and capable to teach young skaters everything that he has learned and more! Safety is the top priority along with the happiness of his clients. Hayden is confident that his clients will walk away from each lesson feeling much more confident in their ability to skate, having learned at least two new tricks each lesson.

I have been skating a long time so I've encountered many battles with lots of different tricks, therefore I have useful tips for lots of tricks from my experience. I also have many friends who I have introduced to skating and have taught things that they have found helpful. Another reason I would make a great instructor is I am great with kids and helping them overcome adversity

I am an academic tutor currently, so I am very experienced in instructing others. Over the last 18 years, I have helped more than a couple of friends get into skateboarding. Combining the two seems like the next logical step.

I have been an avid skateboarder since I was seven. Although in recent years I have switched my focus to surfing, skateboarding remains a sport I have always been passionate about. While I do not have formal experience coaching skateboarding, I have worked as a surf instructor for multiple years and have continued to pursue teaching roles; I currently work as a peer advisor for the Education Abroad Program here at UCSB. I have always enjoyed teaching skills and sports that I am passionate about to young children. I see myself in young skateboarders and surfers, and their whimsy and positivity inspire me. In helping young athletes hone their skateboarding skills, I also hope to teach them life lessons about work ethic, courage, and perseverance that many times cannot be learned in a classroom.
