Veteran Instructor Marvin M. — San Antonio, Texas

Skateboarding has always been a movement, a culture, and a lifestyle. Growing up, Marvin and his older brother always used skateboarding as an escape from everyday problems they faced in life. To them, skateboarding was more than just a hobby. Skateboarding opened doors to a network of friends and life experiences they did not know were possible. People who do not skate may not understand the type of power skateboarding can provide. Some may view it as a hobby or a sport but few can view it as a network of relationships and a character builder. Marvin is currently a Kinesiology major and personal trainer at Lackland AFB. He currently applies his teachings of fitness the same way he used to instruct the Kids he watched at the Golds Gym. On the weekends Marvin used to instruct kids on how to skate at Pearsall Park. He is currently a full-time dad and plans to teach his daughter how to shred in the next coming years.

Veteran Instructor Marlon A. — San Antonio, Texas

Marlon would be a great skateboarding instructor mostly because of how much love he has for skateboarding. Marlon has always wanted to work somewhere or something to do with skateboarding. He likes working on making skateboard videos. He has had his own skate part in seven different skate videos that he worked on with many other skateboarder buddies of his over the past 17 years. He even was even blessed to get credits in three of those skate videos. Besides all that he has helped his two younger brothers to become very good skaters as well. He has also taught his two young sons how to skateboard, and many many other friends of his. He also has always had a dream of owning his very own skateboard shop company selling skateboard equipment and throwing a skate jam every Friday in a big parking lot with a bunch of skate props that he already owns. Like his quarter pipe, flat bar rail, kicker ramp, a box with angle iron, and bench. Another good thing about him is he has great people skills and is very clearly spoken, easy to work with, and has the ability to be very patient while trying to understand others in order to help them. He would be so grateful to start helping others improve at what he loves the most on this entire planet which is the progression of skateboarding.
