Chappell is a city in Deuel County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 983 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Deuel County.

The racial makeup of the city was 97.56% White, 0.10% African American, 0.41% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.81% from other races, and 0.81% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.22% of the population.
