Champlin (pronunciation: /ˈtʃæmplən/ champ-lən) is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 23,089 at the 2010 census.
U.S. Route 169 serves as a main arterial route in the city.
The city of Champlin is located along the Mississippi River, surrounded by the cities of Anoka, Dayton, Brooklyn Park, Maple Grove and Coon Rapids, about 17 miles (27 km) northwest of Minneapolis. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.8 square miles (23 km), of which, 8.2 square miles (21 km) of it is land and 0.6 square miles (1.6 km) of it (7.05%) is water. The average elevation is 875 feet (267 m) above sea level and the Mississippi River is approximately one-eighth of a mile wide throughout Champlin.
