Barlow is a village and civil parish in the North East Derbyshire district of Derbyshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 884. The village is about three miles north-west of Chesterfield.
There are a number of pubs in the village including the “Hare and Hounds”, “The Old Pump” and “The Tickled Trout”. The village church is named after St Lawrence.
The Village holds an annual Well dressing (on the second Wednesday after the first Sunday in August) and a Carnival (on the following Saturday).
Barlow Woodseats Hall, on the edge of the village, is the only manor house in the Parish of Barlow and dates from the 17th century.
William Owtram was born here in 1626.

Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from individualized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2023 report by American Sports Data found that there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a skateboard in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Barlow skate park.
