A 2023 report by American Sports Data found that there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a skateboard in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the ensuing years the locations of skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.
