A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data found there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the following years the physical locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.
