Allentown PA SKATEBOARD LESSONS!

OUR SKATE INSTRUCTORS

Corey C. from Allentown, Pennsylvania!

Hey, let’s skate! My name is Corey and I’m a 22-year-old skateboarder living and working in Downtown Grand Rapids! I’ve had four wheels down for 18 years and counting. Raised skating spot to spot, park to park, and competition to competition through the Adrenaline Games Alliance and the Meijer State Games of Michigan, I’ve won three gold medals in my time skating competitively and qualified for the state finals in the Advanced Skate Series by the age of 11. Skateboarding has presented me with so many amazing opportunities, and life-long friendships, and has taught me so much and I couldn’t be more stoked to have the chance to take my experience on a board and use it to give back to the community that took me in and made me the person I am today. Let’s get you rolling!

Nicholas C. from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania!

The first time I tried pushing on a skateboard in grade school, the board zipped out from under me and I fell hard straight onto my hip. I decided to put it away for a while and didn’t get back on until about 8th grade when I met an older skate mentor who patiently helped me learn some of the basics until my confidence and love for skating outweighed my fear of falling down. I have been skateboarding now for over 20 years and have a lot of love for both skateboarding and teaching. I currently live in Bethlehem, PA, and work part-time at a forest preschool on weekday mornings. I have previously volunteered as a Big Brother and spent lots of time skateboarding with my “Little Brother” and other children in the neighborhood and teaching them tricks. I also have over a decade of experience in other roles as a mentor, classroom and afterschool teacher, music educator, therapist, and caregiver for children and teens ranging from preschool through high school students. At my age (35), I am not pushing myself to extremes with doing tricks downstairs or on very high transitions, but still have a lot to offer beginner and early intermediate skateboarders, especially looking for someone with extensive teaching experience.

IMPROVE YOUR SKATEBOARDING IN A WEEK-LONG COURSE

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered that there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The biggest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
