Step 1

When pushing, it is important that you have the right foot placement on your board. Your front foot should be over three of the top four bolts and not overlay your nose.

Step 2

Keep your front should over your front foot. It is important not to drop your weight back or off your board while you push off. Your upper body will not move during a push. All of the work is to be done with your back foot.

Step 3

Take a long hard push with your back foot. Make sure you place your back foot straight and on the back four bolts after pushing off. If you were to look back, you shouldn’t be able to see any bolts.

Step 4

As you start slowing down, take another push and repeat. You DON’T want to take baby pushes or do splits. Splits are caused by removing your weight from your front shoulder.
