Skateboards are frequently measure by width, not by height like skiis and surfboards are.
There are Two Main Type of boards
Mini-Boards A width of 6.5-7.25 built for younger kids ages 4-13. These are easier for someone smaller to maneuver. |
Pro Boards A width of 7.5 and up built for adults and teenagers. These are the sizes of boards the pro’s ride. |

Under 4’2″ = 6.85″ or smaller
4’2 to 4’10” = 6.85-7.25″
4’11” to 5’3” = 7.1-7.4″
5’4” and up” = 7.5 and up
