The Story

GoSkate.com started as an skating rink directory in 1996.

That Changed When the Site Was Bought by a Skater

The Company Story

In 2006, Rob D., the GOSKATE founder cold called the owner of an ice skating directory GOSKATE.COM and asked to purchase it for $500. GOSKATE would soon become a collection of skate spots through out the USA. The problem is— no one came to Go Skate.

Acknowledging GOSKATE’s failure, the CEO, decided it was time to use the site to offer lessons.

A small local operation began to receive requests throughout the nation. Students from San Francisco, Chicago, and Washington DC were asking the website to be connected to instructors.

A GOSKATE national certification system was developed.

No other resource was available to learn skateboarding in most cities at that time. The site became flooded with requests to give lessons.
Soon, GOSKATE became the preferred method of learning by most beginners.

By 2010, we had 300 instructors.

Today, there are over 5,100 certified GOSKATE Pros.
